When is an increase in the main fuse required?

Charging at home

A prerequisite for the installation for the EV wall box to be carried out is that the property’s main fuse is at least 20A. However, the recommendation for the size of the main fuse depends on how much capacity is used for the property’s other electrical installations and how much power you want to get out of your charging box. In many cases, we will recommend a fuse to at least 20A. Fuses for the power plant are provided in connection with the installation visit for an additional cost, see our price list. Insurance entails, in addition to the work in your power station, an increased subscription fee to your electricity network company.

If you already know before the installer’s visit that an insurance must take place, prepare the following:

  • name, address and social security number of the person on whom the electricity subscription is written
  • facility ID (always starts with 735999… and can be found at the electricity meter or on your electricity bill)
  • meter number (found on the meter in the facade meter cabinet)
  • a copy of your latest electricity bill.

If you have one supplier for the electricity subscription and another for the electricity consumption, a copy of both invoices is needed. When Mer’s installation partner contacts you to book the installation visit, you need to provide them with this information.
